The Western Australian Boardgame Association (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/guild/308) meets monthly in Perth on the second Saturday of each month.

At the December 2008 meeting, later named the inaugural DecembaCon (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/359790), we set out to try and create a 'special event' for our final meeting of the year.

EXTENDED HOURS
Instead of our usual 7 hours gaming starting at 11AM, the December EGF had 10 hours of gaming from 11AM.

RAFFLE DRAWINGS
If you attended you received a free raffle ticket. If you were also a WABA member you received an additional ticket. These tickets were in the draw for all THREE raffles.
There were raffle drawings at 1PM, 5PM and 8PM. You needed to be present to win a prize and tickets continued to be drawn until a present winner was found.
Details of the raffle winners and prizes are here - http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/368702

HOL'S DER GEIER KNOCKOUT TOURNAMENT
We held a free to enter tournament of Alex Randolph's classic card game, Hol's Der Geier (Raj). The prize was a $25 voucher, donated by a local game store.
Details of the tournament are here - http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/364552

15 PLAYER FISCHE FLUPPEN FRIKADELLEN
This was a unique event. A fifteen player game of Freidemann Freise's Fische Fluppen Frikadellen, played over three tables with players moving between the tables as the game progressed.
Details of the game are here - http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/2987361

PRIZE TABLE
We had a Xmas prize table. If you bought a game to put on the Prize Table then you got a raffle ticket to get a game off the Prize Table later in the day.
There was a lot of confusion surrounding the draw of this one, we'll do better next time.

REINER KNIZIA'S DECATHLON
Throughout the day, you were able to try your luck and nerve in a game of the dice game, Reiner Knizia's Decathlon. High scores were recorded in each event and a grand prize trophy awarded.
Details of the decathlon are here - http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/364265

WABA MEMBERS ONLY RAFFLE
As a special thank you to WABGA supporters, there was a members-only raffle. The winner got a $100 credit voucher towards their next game purchase.
Unlike the other raffle draws, you did not need to be present to claim the prize.
The winner joined WABA on the day (for $5) - and then took home the prize (along with another raffle prize).
Details of the raffle winners and prizes are here - http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/368702

WABA GAMES PLAYED RECORD
We tried to record every game played on the day to become the first official 'games played in one WABA day' event record.
44 games were played and these involved 172 players (or plays).
Details of the games played are here - http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/366353

A very busy day that seemed to go very well.
