When I was living in Yorktown several years ago, there was a game store in Richmond I visited once called One-Eyed Jacques...not sure if it's still around but a Google search revealed this address/contact info:

3104 W Cary St
Richmond, VA 23221
(804) 359-5163

Come to Danville, if you have the time.

We will be hosting some board wargaming at the Danville Tank Museum for this weekends "Tank Museum Extravaganza".

For future reference, we plan to host board wargaming there every year at Tank Shock - this is our second year doing it.

The primary organizer, Chuck Sutherland, is an old Grog who used to live in Richmond and knows of several gamers in the area.

And, if you are willing to drive just a few miles (about 30) from Danville, Va to Eden, NC, I host the Eden War Room - a free to anyone who shows up club house. We game each Saturday, mostly, and we often do extended weekends during holidays.

Three tables, kitchenette, A/C, heat, its own bathroom, a fridge, and usually 4-6 people every gaming session. More info pictures under my profile at social.consimworld.com

I see you are in Frederick, Md. Awesome town.

Go to the Game Parlor in Chantilly, Va on your way back - a fine shop it is.

It also happens to be where the guy who got me into wargaming lives - Kirby Meade.

One Eyed Jacques in Carytown (see address above) has the best selection of board and card games and an occasional bargain on ding-and-dent stuff. The Richmond Boardgamers group will be meeting there this Saturday, 4/25 starting around noon.

Richmond Comix in Midlothian (south side) also has a decent selection. I think they have open board gaming on Sundays.

Ravencon is in town this weekend, so that may pull away some of the gaming regulars.

There is also a place called Waterloo Miniatures in Ashland, VA... Just a few minutes north of Richmond.

Not sure what they have in the way of board games but they look to have table top miniatures game.
