www.thecompleatstrategist.com

That's the best place I found in Manhattan (south of Central Park that is). I didn't dig too deep as I was mainly hunting for CCGs.

Note that there is pretty much only the Compleat Strategist in Murray Hill and that one store in Brooklyn. None in Queens or the Bronx, and Neutral Ground closed down some months ago.

It colsed down for it's poor management? Could the number of the BGstores over 50 in NY?

upstate has A LOT of game stores, much more than the city. Does Mid-town Comics do games? That was my favorite comic shop as a kid.

I don't have any inside information, but I assume they closed because they moved to shiny new digs and sales couldn't keep up with the rent. They were always more of a play/tournament center for CCGs like Magic, with board games on the side, and perhaps they couldn't sustain that model once they moved?

With NG gone, there are only 2 boardgames stores in the five boroughs, so far as I know. That's not counting toy stores or book stores which might have a few mainstream games, of course.

Here is a list of comic shops. Hopefully some of them carry board games.
