This is an off-shoot of an idea from Indigo Potter who did this for the US: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/44058

There is now a geeklist version of this thread which includes individual entries for each country and more information on the stores:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/44080

This poll will eventually replace the one below with the 'neutral' option

Poll created by 1000rpm

I got the list of stores from this thread:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/355964
Some may now not be in business (though I did a quick check and all the websites were live) and there may be some new ones. If so please comment!

I sorted alphabetically by country, except putting UK & Germany top as these countries have the highest number of BGG users (in Europe).

Ratings:
1 - Have ordered from them. Great experience. Recommended.
2 - Have ordered from them. Good experience. Likely to again.
3 - Have ordered from them. Bad experience. Fixed. Would consider.
4 - Have ordered from them. Bad experience. Not fixed. Will not again.
5 - Have NOT ordered from them, but would consider it. Positive view. thumbsup
6 - Have NOT ordered from them, but will not. Negative view. thumbsdown
7 - Have NOT ordered from them. Neutral (though best not to use this option as it makes the poll results less clear - because lots of people have not ordered from a lot of these stores!

1 2 3 4 5 thumbsup 6 thumbsdown 7 neutral

I like your format, with each country its own poll! Very clear and easy to read.

I'll be adding a geeklist so that comments on individual stores can be added to it. I'll also add more details on the stores there.

In Germany there are far more online stores. Would you mind if I created a Germany-only geeklist with all the stores?

Oh, and BTW, wouldn't a seperation of the poll make more sense: like two polls for each shop, one "I've bought there and think..." and one "I didn't buy there, but think..." instead of both questions having in one single poll (1-4 = have bought, 5-7 didn't)? I got confused the first time...

Go ahead, I guess this will be the "German stores for those outside Germany" poll.

I think you are right and your question may be clearer, though it would mean that people only ever answered 1 question of the 2!

On reflection looking at the results, splitting the question would be much better. The '7' options really make a mess of the results.

I'm thinking of adding the poll again with just options 1-4.

Or maybe just combine those polls into one with 1-4 meaning both "have bought and think..." OR "haven't bought there, but might think...", like

1 have ordered, recommend OR will most probably order in future
2 have ordered, likely again OR haven't, but might in future
3 have ordered, but disappointed OR haven't, neutral
4 have ordered, never again OR haven't and will never ever order there

?

Ordered and disappointed is substantially different than haven't and neutral.

You're right, so instead of "neutral" something like "no idea if I ever will"? This is pretty much the same like your "bad experience, fixed, might consider".

Or do you think "2" would be a better "haven't ordered, neutral"?

If you wanted to shorten the choices, you could leave 1-4 as they are, and add 5 as "have not ordered from them". I would want to know if someone has experience with a company.

Hm, I think I'll do two seperate polls for each entry. It's just too confusing to look at a rating from 1-7, where 1 is best, but 7 not worst, but rather 4 and 6...

One last question: How did you enter the polls? Do I need to create them elsewhere as the geeklist form doesn't have an option to add polls...

Open a thread (like this one) and use the green checkmark to create your polls. It will then give you something like [ poll = 123456 ]. Copy and paste that into your geeklist item. You can delete and remake each poll in the one thread, then just close out the thread without submitting when you're done.

I would also say that The Orcs Nest is recommended in the UK

This was exactly what I had in mind, thanks!

I've decided not to restart the polls. I've just amended the text for option 7 to deter people from using it.

Changed my mind. There are too many 'neutral' votes and it makes some of the polls useless.
