You can start now just in case you do not have time later. I find that even if I follow along with the listings and add to my list every few days, after the list closes, I still go through the entire list one more time.

You can (and ought to) start working on your wants in the tool as soon as you want. Don't forget to keep checking the tail end of the list as people get their last-minute additions into the trade.

Once the list closes, I'll turn on submissions so you can finalize your wants.

I just pressed the resync button, if that's what you mean.

So, uh, Daniel, I think that means you owe Mischa something.

Haha, I was just trying to gently hint that someone should offer a copy of Nefertiti in the trade. For me, it's not a game worth buying, but I would gladly trade for it.

Sometime between Thursday afternoon (Oct. 30) and Friday afternoon (Oct. 31), the BGG coders changed the way you put a sweetener in a geeklist. While the change is not apparent when looking at items in the geeklist, the OLWLG isn't currently programed to handle the change (See Item 947 when looking at the geeklist through the OLWLG).

I'll bring it to JeffyJeff's attention, but I doubt he will be able to do anything about it between now and the submission period. Not sure there is much else we can do. Just thought I would point this out.

I suspect that changing to "gameid=xxxx" instead of "thing=xxxx" will still work with the OLWLG.

Not much time left, so not worth asking people to go back and change things. Thanks for the catch, though.

Thanks for the suggestion Mischa. At least I was able to change my entries prior to the list closing.

Looks like we won't quite make 1200 entries. I thought we'd get there this evening.

I am hitting the snooze button on the close time for the trade list, since at least three or four people are still up late adding last-minute items.

I've got 1 AM Central; let's say at least another hour more to add items.

Okay, gang, it's now time to submit those wantlists. I'm already seeing some of them show up, so the OLWLG is working.

You've got until Saturday night at midnight CST!

Sorry, I'm just not seeing this anywhere -- which rules/options are enabled for this math trade? Like, I see we can use dummy items for dupe protection, but how about priority? Thanks!

I see a field for each game called "Optional vaue" -- is that used?

Mike,

Yes: Duplicate Protection!
No: Priorities!

As I understand it, "optional values" only matters with priorities.

The optional value is just for personal use. Its affects the game sorting in the list and provides a default sorting for priorities, if the math trade is using them. The OLWLG also uses the value to provide warnings if your want list appears out of order. For example, if you are offering two games for something you value at 10, while only offering one of those two games for something you value at 20.

I find that the default sorting (number of offers in descending order) works fine for me even with priorities, so the optional value is just more work.

Thanks for the info. I have one more question. I'm looking at my want-list grid and here and there are some cells highlighted in yellow. What does that indicate?

I have a question about duplicate protection. I've read the wiki, but I want to do something more complicated...and want to make sure how it works.

Say that there is one item among the duplicates that I want more than the others. I'm willing to trade some more valuable items of mine for it, but not for the other duplicates.

Can I create a duplicate list for all of those (including the more valuable one) and mark the lower end games I'm willing to trade. Then ALSO toggle additional boxes for the high-end duplicate I'm more interested in of more valuable games I'm offering?

In other words, if I trade for the high-end duplicate, will it keep me from getting a second inferior copy? The OLWLG gives a purple background warning when I try to add additional games to one particular item of a duplicate list. Is there no way to do what I'm suggesting?

What you are asking has been asked many times, but currently it is impossible. To be fair, this is a feature needed to be added to TradeMaximizer, not the OLWLG.

I forget this all the time.

"Yellow is just the program's way of pointing out that you may have offered a game you seem to value more without offering a game you seem to value less."
