Going to the LA/Anaheim area tomorrow.

Are there are particularly spectacular gaming stores that I shouldn't miss?

I usual stop by Brookhurst Hobbies when i head down to the OC.

My favorite So-Cal store is Game Empire in Pasadena.

I concur with Wanny's 2 choices as the best of LA. Brookhurst will be very local if you're in the Anaheim area, the rest will be a long drive away.

Also if you feel like driving in the LA traffic the following might be worth a visit:

Long Beach:
The War House - A little bit cramped but stocks everything. Small game area on the back. Dont forget to check out the discount rack.

Burbank:
Emerald Knight - New store nice gaming area.
Last Grenadier - Older store plenty of Wargames

Santa Monica:
Aero Hobbies - Mostly Warhammer and RPGs

I wish they relocate Last Grenadier next to Disneyland...I took the family down there for summer trip but got too exhausted to swing by. So close...yet so far...

For those of you who have never driven in LA, it's like the old Star Trek II quote " Admiral, if we go "by the book". like Lieutenant Saavik, hours could seem like days"

And whoever designed the freeways in LA must have forgotten the the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.shake

There are plenty of good game stores in the Southland. Brookhurst is certainly the largest in the vicinity of Anaheim, but they do devote most of their space to modelling. But that's okay, the store is the size of a small warehouse.

Someplace had to be the testing ground before everyone else got their pretty highways built. Thank God we don't have a beltway, however!

There's a sale going on at Game Empire in Pasadena, at least there was earlier this month.
