Incan Gold is a fantastic family card game.
It’s a game that’s simple to learn, easy to play and you get treasure to boot!
Who doesn’t love that?
One reason why we think it makes a great family game is that you can play with up to 8 people. You’re not limited to just 4 players like other games we’ve rated with high scores for families.
Deal or No Deal in the Incan ruins
Have you every wanted to be on Deal or No Deal so you could press your luck for more reward? That’s how you’ll feel in Incan Gold. Before each card is turned over, each player decides if they will venture further. If you go further you could get more treasure, but if you wait too long to head back to camp, you’ll lose it all.
It’s that chance you take that can either win you the game or cause you to fail miserably.

Can the whole family enjoy Incan Gold?
Absolutely. Our 6 year old son became a big fan right away. With a simple decision each time - go on or not - it’s easy to understand. And after one play the consequences are obvious even at a young age. And with everyone showing their card every time, they stay involved and don’t get distracted.
Another thing that helps us determine whether a board game or card game is a good family game is how anxious everyone is to play it again. And the first time we played, we got in 4 games before calling it good. And wouldn’t you know it, the next day it was out on the table for more pressing our luck.
The only thing to watch out for are the images on the hazard cards. Some youngsters may not take too kindly to them. If you’re worried, check out all the images posted in the gallery.
Kid’s Rating: 8/10 (stated as 5 and a 3 out of 5 Meeples score in the video)
Dad’s Rating: 9/10 Great, light family card game for all the reasons above.
