I'm expecting my shipment of cubes this week (if you ordered them, you'll get them within 2 or 3 weeks), so I'm getting ready to place another large game piece order.

As I've already done with cubes, discs, and sticks/roads, I am planning to place an order for tens of thousands of meeples in order to get a good discount. I'd like to purchase no less than 5000 of each of the following 6 colors:

black, white, red, yellow, green, blue

Here is the design:

It is approximately 19mm high x 12mm wide x 8mm wide. The meeple was specifically designed for generic use. It also supports 3 "states": standing, lying flat, and lying on the side.

Normal Carc meeples (albeit a bit larger) often run in the range of 25 to 30 cents each at stores like Spielmaterial.de:

http://www.spielmaterial.de/english4/start.php?d_P0015_SET_C...

... so here's your chance to get a bargain!

I do not have a final cost yet, as it will depend highly on how many I order (especially because it is a custom piece). These will likely be between 7.5 to 9 cents each.

I know that many of you may only be interested in lots of 100 or so meeples. On the other hand, large orders help get the cost down for all of us. In the past, I only accepted orders of 1000 of each piece, but I'd like to open it up a bit more this time, so I'm introducing a tiered rate for this order, to reward those of you that help all of us get the cost down.

NOTE: All orders must be in sets of 100 of each color.

100 of each color (600 meeples) => base price (about 7.5 to 10 cents each)
200 of each color (1200 meeples) => base price minus 0.25 cents per meeple
400 of each color (2400 meeples) => base price minus 0.50 cents per meeple
1000 of each color (6000 meeples) => base price minus 0.75 cents per meeple
2000 or more of each color => negotiable -- contact me personally

Thus an order of 100 of each will be approximately $45 to $54 plus shipping, which will likely be fixed at $10 per U.S. order, regardless of quantity.

Ordering these bits, counting them, and distributing them is quite labor intensive, so I hope you understand my need to add a tiered rate.

I plan to order these on March 22.

Production Time: 6-8 weeks for the manufacturer, 3-4 weeks for ocean freight shipping to me, 2-3 weeks for me to get them sorted, counted, and shipped to you. You'll likely get them around the end of June.

Delivery: +/- 5 meeples (I do not count them by hand. I weigh them. Also note the a few may be broken. I hope you understand that at this price, I cannot afford to take the time to inspect every one of them.)

Terms of Payment: 100% up front via Paypal only

Deadline: March 17, 2010

On March 17, I will send out invoices with the final price via Paypal to everyone that ordered. Payment will then be required by March 21.

All orders must be in sets of 100 of each every color.

Please RESPOND TO THIS THREAD if interested.

I'm only selling in lots of 100. Would you like 400 or 500?

Cool idea. As was the case with the cubes, the omission of purple and orange is a showstopper for me.

Yeah; all twelve colors would make this a no-brainer for me, and would probably be a 500-1000 piece (per color) order from LA. But 6 standard colors just don't motivate me sufficiently...you gotta do what works for you, but I have to think you'd get more volume with the full set of colors.

edit: speeling and extending my thought

How much would 100 weigh, and how much space would they take? Specifically, what I want to know if it would make sense to have them shipped to South America.

I think there would be less volume. I have no need for 8, 10, or 12 different colors of meeples, and can't think of many game designers or self-publishers that would. Meeples are usually assigned to players, and games rarely have more than 6 players. How many people would pay almost twice as much just to get a bunch of colors that they may never use?

If there is sufficient interest for the other 6 colors:

purple, orange, pink, brown, gray, natural

I'll see if I can get a separate quote for a smaller quantity of those colors.
(Note they will probably cost a 1 to 2 cents more each.)

100 of each would probably weigh around 3 pounds and cost about US$35 to send to South America via USPS Priority Mail.

So, if we order, we must order a minimum of 600 meeples (100 of each color)?

Or, can I instead say that I'd like 100 red and 100 yellow, and that's it?

Seems pretty clear - 600 meeple minimum order (100 of each color). He's buying them in bulk and reselling them in bulk - I don't think Tim wants a garage full of leftover Blue meeples!

Right right, and I just thought that that could be interpreted as only meaning that you could not order 50 of blue, and 50 of black. That you must order at least 100 of blue, and 100 of black.

But I see that earlier in his post when discussing the tiered pricing he's got "(600 meeples)" next to the lowest tier.

So, my apologies on the misinterpretation.

Seth is correct. I am ordering them in sets (1 of each color).

I'm good for 100 of each color, or 600 meeples total.

Thanks for doing this!

Possibly, but I doubt it. Now that I'm more actively self-publishing, I'd prefer to keep them.

Count me in for 100 of each (600 total)

Wish I could justify more, but I have until the 21st to determine that!

We play dolls. It's way less embarrassing than using our sisters Barbies, though not as cool as Star Wars action figures

more likely it's for:
(a) Game designers working on prototypes, and
(b) Self publishers, putting together a hundred or so copies of their game to send out to people who buy it.

I was originally thinking that if I could just obtain certain colors (say my girlfriend and I's faves - red and yellow), then the meeples themselves might make for good fodder to put in random places with little notes attached to have my girlfriend find - something sort of silly like that.

After that, I'm not a designer or publisher, so I'm not sure I had any better ideas.
