I'm pretty new to the hobby having only a couple of games above Monopoly and Banangrams. The games that I have, I purchased at Barnes and Noble, target, ebay, or an online store. I'm wondering if there is a good gaming store in Dallas that focuses in on these types of games. I don't mind buying from Barnes and Noble, but would rather talk to someone in the hobby. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The best is the Game Chest in valley view mall, off 635 and I think Preston.

Check out Madness Games in Plano. Great selection and a good gaming area. I don't know the exact address. They recently moved across the street from their old place. I don't get out to Dallas much, but I love to stop by the store when I am in the area as Chris, the owner, does a really nice job of keeping the new stuff in stock and the classics on the shelves. You'll find something there, I promise.

Game Chest might be the best game store in Dallas, but most of the employees I ever met there were totally Simpsons Comic Book Guys. Lone Stars are nice tho.

My favorite is Madness Comics and Games. (Parker and Custer)
The Gamers Realm (Closed temporarily)
The Game Chest (In Valley View Mall)
Lone Star Comics (Independence and Parker)
XMAX Games (Skillman and Bellmont)

Hope that helps.

Another voice for Madness in Plano (Parker and Custer behind the Wendy's). Great space and great inventory.

The Game Chest is the best for selection.

aside from saying that, the only thing I can really add to what's already been mentioned is Keith's Comics/More Fun comics and games, located in Denton and Lancaster respectively.

Another vote for Madness Games & Comics - for the past several years they have had a buy 2 get 1 free sale from late november to end of december.

Also, there is http://dallasgamesmarathon.com/ a monthly game conference in Plano (corner of Alma and Parker). In addition to gaming all weekend for $10-$15, they also have a flea market table for people to bring their games to sell and for others to buy...

Also, for just playing games, a group meets on Tuesday nights in Richardson: http://www.dallasgames.com/
