OK, does this sound right:

I did some clicking and now what I have is my original list (no highlights) with the correct checks and, at the bottom of each set of dupes is the corresponding dummy (highlighted in green) with the same checks as the real items they represent. On the side listed vertically, next to my "for trade" items are listed the 3 games that are dupes on my want list (all highlighted in green) but none of them are checked anywhere.
There is no duplicate warning. Does it sound like I have this right? I think what's confusing me is the vertical additions on the side...
This is incorrect.

All of the items which were highlighted pink before should be highlighted in a light grey/blue color. Here's what you need to do:
For every item which is a duplicate want(i.e. if you have selected 2 Ticket to Rides as wants) you want it's row to have only a single check, which is for the "duplicate protection" item of Ticket to Ride(the green named item, with its column highlighted green). Then the "Duplicate Protection" row should have checked all of the games you want to trade it for.

A complete example:
I'm trading away Hive and Lost Cities, I want Ticket to Ride and Risk. There are 2 copies of Ticket to Ride in the trade, and I want to only receive one of them. I enable Duplicate Protection for that item. My Step 4 now looks like this:

Across the top is Hive, Lost Cities and a green Ticket to Ride.

Down the side is Risk(numbered), Ticket to Ride(A numbered), Ticket to Ride(B numbered) and Ticket to Ride(Green labeled TtR).

Suppose I'm willing Lost Cities for Risk, but I will trade Hive or Lost Cities for Ticket to Ride.

Then row by row I want:
Risk(numbered) check in Lost Cities column.
Ticket to Ride(A Numbered) check in Ticket to Ride(green column)
Ticket to Ride(B Numbered) check in Ticket to Ride(green column)
Ticket to Ride(Green TtR) check in Lost Cities and Hive columns.

So, in case you were thinking of sleeping in and getting your wants done during the day on Saturday, now seems like a good time to remind everyone that the cutoff for want-list submission is Saturday at 11 AM EDT, not PM, like so many other MT's. Don't let us all down you rules skimmers!

Ticket to Ride(B Numbered) check in Ticket to Ride(green column)
Ticket to Ride(Green TtR) check in Lost Cities and Hive columns.

It's becoming clearer! One question. For instance in this line:

Ticket to Ride(A Numbered) check in Ticket to Ride(green column)

I would ONLY have TTR (green column) checked and nothing else in the line regardless of willingness to trade, correct?

And on this line:

Ticket to Ride(Green TtR) check in Lost Cities and Hive columns.

Would be the only place I would list willing trades for that game, correct?

After I tried this and saved the changes the games previously in pink are now blue/gray.

I am highly anticipating these results. My first math trade so it will be interesting to see how it turns out. Probably won't hit on anything. :D

Grr, I was tied up with work all week and so wasn't able to get my want list in on time.

Sorry to the one person who wanted The Civil War.

What's the delay? We've got a wants list but no results summary an hour after.

Also, looks like the wants were regenerated. First at 11:07 and the second at 11:37. What gives?

I'd like to know that too. I was looking at the most wanted/want list thing on the OLWXYZ and could barely tell it was English.
