Greetings all,

One of my workmates will be heading off to the beautiful city of Paris France for a vacation coming up soon. The best part of it all is that she has offered to take along a list of games to look out for. Any suggestions on games that are availible in France that are not availible here and where to look for games in Paris?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Dan

Well, I dunno about games you can only find in France. The only game store I saw and shopped from when I was there was this one right in the middle of Marais (across from the independent cinema.) it's not hard to find, esp. if she looks up this independent small cinema listed in the Marais, they're very close to each other.

hope that helps somewhat...

Do any of these shops stock Queen and or adlung games? I am specifically looking for Flandern 1302 (Queen) and Im Auftrag des Königs (Adlung).

Thanks,
Dan

Great list Bruno.

But I went to a Jeux Descartes store located at 52 rue des Écoles (Metro Maubert-Mutualité) in July 2004. An excellent store, but perhaps it has moved?

Daniel, I visited Starplayer on Rue Dante, which is very near the Notre Dame cathedral. It's a small shop but they were very very helpful and showed me a lot of French games. Ask for games by Sylvie Barc, I got Carambouille, Casbah and some others. Sylvie is the top French designer, second only to Bruno of course!

I also visited one of the Jeux Descartes shops right across town. Not very helpful, it was like getting blood from a stone. I bought a bunch of games, but I had to do all the work. I got some Sentosphere card games, but not played them yet. You'll find the Jeux Descartes/Eurogames there of course. I also got this game: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/11606

I found the prices in Paris to be a little higher than german prices, but okay.

I strongly recommend your friend visits the Musee d'Orsay and goes straight to the top floor, the very top floor that is. Superb Impressionist gallery, unbelievable. They have some excellent sculpture too. I took this photo...

"Excusez-moi" for rising up an old topic like this but I'm (probably) going to visit Paris in September and of course I'm interested in going into some game shops. OYA surely sounds very interesting but I'm confused about the two addresses that are linked with it.

So, is OYA located at A) 22 rue Daubenton (5e.) or B)25 rue de la Reine Blanche (13e.)?

And this goes off topic, but if you know shops in Reims or Epernay (I doubt there's nothing but champagne) please feel free to add them to your answer.

Oya : 25, rue de la Reine Blanche. Métro Blanche (13e).
You can play there too. It's a great Boardgames café.
