Dammit. And here I am stuck out in Hayward.

Child care takes up much of my existence these days, but maybe I could make it out to Foster City...

Alameda board games on Tuesday nights
Small group that meets every Tuesday night in Alameda, we've been playing a while but only recently started up a yahoo group which is at:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/alamedaboardgames/

A group for folks who live in or near Alameda who want to get together and play all sorts of board games, from Clue to Age of Renaissance, from Stratego to Carcassonne.

We meet Tuesday nights at JavaRama (1333 Park Street) at 7PM, and all are welcome!

Tri-Valley (San Ramon) Boardgamers...
Small group that meets Wednesday evenings in San Ramon:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/trivalleygamers/

Unlike the others, we never did get a public location for games, so I have volunteered to host at my house. As a result, the emphasis is on getting everyone to play the same game as a group, though we have split into smaller groups on those rare occassions we get 7 people. In addition to posting session reports on the yahoo list, we do cross-post here:

If you're in the San Ramon/Pleasanton area you should check out my old mates at the Tri-Valley Boardgamers. They meet in various host homes every Wednesday night.

They're a good group of guys and gals. They play a wide variety of euro-games.

For more information you should contact Dave Wilson (daw65) or Richard Pardoe (RPardoe) here on the Geek.

Hey TVBer's if you see this post...howdy from Minnesota!!!

P.S. - oops, looks like Richard beat me to it...see post above. Anyway, I second the motion. Check them out.

A group of us have been meeting regularly--every Wednesday night--in San Francisco for the last six months. We usually get between 8-10 folks. If anyone's interested, shoot me a note.

It looks like Games of Berkeley (2151 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley) has a board game night as well. I can't vouch for it since I've never been, but their web site says "Free Board Game Night" happens every Wednesday at 6:30 pm.

http://www.gamesofberkeley.com/

On second thought, if they are giving out free board games...maybe I should go.

There's a boardgame night at 99 Bottles pub in Santa Cruz. I'm pretty sure it's on Sunday's. They even provide some games.

I haven't gone yet, but I keep meaning to. Any other gamers out there in Santa Cruz? I wouldn't mind meeting up there. I have a ton of games I could bring down....and I'm sure you do as well...

Thanks, Jay. I was tempted to post this info myself, but since I don't host (haven't yet, at least) I was reluctant to volunteer the info to the masses!

You're kidding! I never knew about this. I've lived in Santa Cruz county for over a decade. I've got a TON of games to share as well. I'll have to contact them.

I got into boardgames while an undergraduate at Santa Cruz, but I never knew of any gaming groups. I've been in Berkeley for a year, but I'm moving back to Santa Cruz this summer for grad school. I'll be looking for a group once I get back. I also have a bunch of games to share.

Here is another one for the list:

Neutral Ground (a.k.a. Matchplay)
San Antonio Shopping Center
Mountain View California 94040
phone: (650) 947-0398
http://www.matchplay.com/

They host a boardgame night on Wednesdays (and something called "boardgame league" on Mondays). I've never been...perhaps someone else has some info on this one?

Historically, Monday/Wednesday at Matchplay is Silicon Valley Boardgamers.

It's pretty well attended on Wednesdays, less so on Mondays (at least this is how it used to be- I haven't been there myself recently).

Thanks!

Kevin,

Game Kastle has expanded their playing area, and now run open boardgaming on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. See the schedule on their website (already on your list). Ray (nice guy) from Game Kastle just happened to be in my GM session of Ticket to Ride Europe at Kublacon, and let me know the news.

I heard a rumor that the Adobe group no longer exists. Maybe someone can verify that.

Also, can anyone here raise their hands if they go to GameKastle's open gaming? And if they go Fridays or Sundays? I've gone a couple times (not recently, though) and haven't had much luck. You can always draft Magic on Friday evenings though, which is fun.

The Adobe group has folded. Critical headcount was lost as a result of the Macromedia acquisition.

I go now and then on Saturdays. In fact I'm trying to get a semi-regular 18XX group going there on Friday/Saturday nights.
