Why does it seem like this question gets asked once a week? And why would anyone want to go to Vegas and do the same thing they do at home all the time? Play some blackjack, go see Penn & Teller, get drunk, find some 'company'. Remember, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Yeah, cause I can't play blackjack, see Penn & Teller and get drunk at home any time I want!

But I can't see a DIFFERENT game store with a different bunch of products than my FLGS at home!

(I'm going to Vegas this weekend too!)

Little Shop of Magic is having some Mob themed game night tomorrow night, in conjunction with the Mob Experience. I don't know if I'm going or giving it a pass this weekend. It may be too chaotic for my tastes.

Hey, I live in Las Vegas. Dark Tower is long gone, as mentioned, but Avatar Comics & Games is not far from where they used to be, and is an excellent, friendly comic and game shop. I play and organize games there (not an employee). They have a good range of board games, and we're organizing board game demos on the next couple of Sundays (until Christmas). We also run Friday Night Magic, D&D Encounters, Living Forgotten Realms, and Lair Assault.

There is also a game store in town called Battlezone (northwest) that's supposed to have a very good selection of board games, but I haven't been there so can't confirm-- it's a bit further out, for me.

Little Shop of Magic still exists. I don't really play there-- they do well enough in online sales and don't foster their community as well as other shops do.

If you're coming to town and like games, though, do go downtown to the Insert Coin(s) barcade (must be 21+)-- classic arcade games as well as reservable console stations. And on Tropicana, not too far from the Strip, there's the Pinball Hall of Fame, which is absolutely fun and not to be missed.

Just giving an update from Sin City. There are also meetup groups for board gamers-- playing games is a big hobby for a lot of people in this town (big surprise).

Thanks for the updated info. I don't know when I'll get back out there to visit my family members in Henderson, or if I'll have any time in between climbing the Red Rocks and gazing at the Sights, but I would definitely prefer playing board games to casino hopping any day.

I've been to them all a few times

Action Comics and Sports

- Focus on Hero-clicks and CCGs with a good selection of GW models, RPGs, board games, and of course Comics/Memorabilia... They have a lot of tables open almost all the time. Running D&D Encounters Wednesday, Friday Night Magic, and other organized events. I talked with the owner and he said he will be picking up Warmachine/Hordes soon due to popular demand.

Great selection of miniature war games, and board games with a smattering of comics. Large friendly staff with diverse experience that can give great advice. Lots of open tables with a lot of Wargames, boardgames, and RPG action happening here (Pathfinder, D&D Encounters, 5 Rings). They advertise that Saturday night the place is open "till the gamers go home!!!" They invited me to come in for a place to paint when ever I like.

BattleZone Comics

Been here only once. Tiny store with a lot of comics, war games, board games, card games. The best selection of Warmachine/Hordes I have found but in exchange they are a bit over priced. A couple of tables for open gaming most nights, Pathfinder and Friday Night Magic.

Comic Oasis
3121 North Rainbow
Las Vegas, Nv 89108

Here once and the first thing you think is, "Holy crap! That is a crap ton of comics and merchandise!" Second thing is they have a ton of boardgames (If only I had more spending money). Third thing is, no war minis (so sad). Hero-clicks and card games. Few tables here but they don't have any events or play times listed on their site.

HobbyTown USA

The only survivor of the great cull. Mostly specialize in models (cars, trains, planes, heli) and have anything you might need for crafting with metal or wood. Terrific selection of board games, some at great discount prices. Small RPG rack, lots of card games. A lot of big box Warhammer & 40K but not many war mini blisters (No Warmachine/Hordes. Can you tell what my latest infatuation is?) No play area or events in store.

Little Shop of Magic
4160 S. Durango Dr. #120
Las Vegas, NV 89147
(702) 307-6127

This store is completely dedicated to gaming (No wasted space on comics which will soon be obsolete). Monstrous selection of board games of all varieties. Vast expanse of war minis of all kinds. Owner is very friendly ex-military who likes talking to customers. When I go in there is always card or war games afoot. D&D encounters, Pathfinder, Warmahordes Thursday, Friday Night Magic, Hero-clicks, Open paint nights. Oh, and board game rentals!

I hope this was complete and fair.

We've been getting between 15-20 boardgamers on Saturday nights recently, which is amazing (a couple of years ago it was 4-8). Unfortunately, there's often a competition for table space with the Magic people until about 8 PM, sometimes later. They are being too successful! Its a good group of gamers there, though.

I don't know that its smaller, or if its more scattered. As mentioned, I'm encouraged by the great growth in people who show up to Little Shop of Magic every Saturday night. Neoncon, our local convention, has gone from about 10 boardgamers showing up 3 years ago (its primarily an RPG con) to 30+ last year. So, things are moving in the right direction. In a town with as many distractions as LV possesses, getting people to sit down for board games where money's not on the table can be tough, and we are out there!

If you're around on a Saturday night (and have no other plans) feel free to join us at the shop!

BTW, Neoncon has folded, so no LV con this year. OTOH, we get 15 people on a slow Saturday at Little Shop of Magic now, and most of the time its 20-25 with 4-7 games being played.

Thanks for this thread, and for the great list. I live in Germany, but I'll be in Vegas this weekend for a conference and need to pick up a few English-language expansion packs. I'll drop by LSM Saturday night if I can, Monday otherwise.

The Little Shop of Magic is pretty much a straight shot from the Escalibur: just head West on Tropicana for about 6 miles and the turn right on Durango. They are on your right as you are about to cross Flamingo.

Not walking distance, but you can easily drive or catch a bus there: cabs can be expensive so be careful you don't end up spending all your gaming money on the fare

Hi geeks,

Gonna Visit Vegas for the First Time as im attending the CES at Hilton hotel for Business.
Looking for a chance to get my hands on some Board games
(Axis allies 1940 2nd ed and maybe some Dust tactics Premium stuff..)

Guess my First choice should be the "Little Shop of Magic" in terms of boardgames variety and Shorts Location to the Hilton hotel?

From the Hilton, you'd just head out Flamingo for several miles (6 or 7, I think) until you get to Durango. Take a left on Durango. LSoM is near the intersection of Flamingo and Durango.

About 15-25 of us play boardgames at LSoM on Saturday nights starting around 5 PM. I think the shop has gaming on other nights, that's the only night I go, though. Its also the only store at which I game, there are probably others with game nights, too.

Since my neice lives in Henderson, NV, I've been to Las Vegas several times, but since I live near Atlantic City, NJ (and I'm a board game geek), I really don't have much use for the casinos, except for the shows and buffets. I just wanted to say as a warning to everyone reading this, that it is really frustrating to try and find a board game store out there in LV-NV, because ... the very words "GAME" and "GAMING" have a totally different connotation and refer only to various gambling methodologies. So don't expect good results from a glance in the phone directory or a quick internet search while you are out there. You'll have to dig deeper or use the list posted above as a reference.

Battle Zone Comics and Games

They have moved they are now located on Craig Road @ 4444 W Craig ste 116 North Las Vegas Nevada 89032

New owner who really knows his stuff and is very helpful and friendly as well. Have a lot more board games than they used to have and he can get anything you are looking for. Still pretty heavy in the miniatures games and the best selection of Warmachine and Hordes in town i think.

They also carry a lot of the newer card based board games and have weekly Game of Thrones and Netrunner on Wed nights and Friday night Magic.
