Yep, I really should install some software on Robyn's new computer. On the bright side, I got another award for my session report on Talisman:

See item 33.

When do you guys leave for the Grand Tour of Australia?

Only for 6 days. We realised that we should have schedule the trip to the following week as we'll be missing both Critical Mass here on the 1st and Convic in Melbourne. Bad planning. soblue

Hmm, I missed these replies somehow. Hey, woohoo! Phoeniix got an avatar! Harley will miss the next Critical Mass meeting as well. My family will be away for 10 days from Thursday, so I am available for gaming every evening except Sunday. I plan to visit QUGS as well. BTW, I have a bit of to give away, who wants an avatar?

Yup. I got an avatar and I have you to thank for it as well Next stop would be a geekbadge but it might take a while before it appears though. Looks like I'll be busy in the next month writing session reports and reviews.

Amun Re is for sale on Ebay from a Brisbane seller. Current price $16. I would shut up and bid myself, but I'm not sure I want it.

I'll push MMA up the "to buy" list, in case you are never allowed out again.

hahaha. I think Ken would definitely be able to make the next Critical Mass but if you're interested in playing MMA, you can always make arrangements with Ken 'cos his girlfriend is leaving for home and hence would not be subjecting him to anymore "torturous" karaoke sessions.

PS: Ken, Please don't tell her I said this. I don't feel like getting smacked. heh

Woohoo! OVERLORD!
I found out today that Eric has a copy of Memoir '44. As we do too, that makes 2 copies, which is enough to play Memoir '44 Overlord. Overlord is an 8-player game in which two teams of 4 compete. Each team has a commander-in-chief and 3 field generals. The FGs control left, centre and right flanks of the board. On a turn, the CiC chooses cards, and passes them to a FG without instructions on what is to be done with them. Consequently the art of the game is for the 4 players to work well together with limited communication capabilities, rather like a real war. It sounds great, I gotta try it!

If you're interested in playing a game of this, go to:

http://www.memoir44.com/

and get the Overlord rules and read them. If you have a chance to play the 2 player game, even better. If you're interested, contact me to reserve a spot in the game.

I want to play Overlord!!!!

And keep Ken on your side ... his dice rolls for M44 are uncanny ... he wipes out entire squads with ONE at most two attacking units and this includes infantry attacking tanks.

I've got a plan so cunning you could give it some dice and call it Dave Chan - attack the fields early.

Re: Critical Mass (Indooroopilly)
I will try to remember to stick MMA in the box. Overlord might take a while to play, I just can't see an 8 player game going quickly. I would like to try SoC without a traitor so we can see whether it really is easy, without somebody messing it all up.

If anyone else has a copy, please bring it along. Otherwise it looks like Overlord is off for this month.

Re: Critical Mass (Indooroopilly)
A PM from Ozgamer made me realise that some people might think you need to A. be invited or B. RSVP to come. Not at all.
All are welcome. If you suddenly become available on games night come along. The only reason I asked people to RSVP was to have an idea of numbers for tables / chairs and in the future a second hall (though we may be filling one hall to the rafters tonight).

We played Space Crusade not Space Hulk.
Same manfacturer and similar themes but Space Hulk is much nastier for the unlucky marine players

Re: Critical Mass (Indooroopilly)
hey fellas

i'm looking at buying citadels and probably guilltoine, (arguably less complicated games that i could talk my family into playing) but have no idea where to get them. Mind games in brisbane has citadels, and napoleons has guilltoine, but i was wondering if anyone could help me with other stores i could check as well. thanks

Re: Critical Mass (Indooroopilly)
milsims.com.au probably has them, and only charges $5.50 postage. Mind Games at Stones Corner might have both as well. Surely you don't care how far you have to drive in that car of yours? Heck, you'd probably find them at Amazen at the Sunshine Coast :-).

Re: Critical Mass (Indooroopilly)
thanks guys,

john, i probably wouldn't drive to the sunshine coast, but i do tend to spend a fair bit of my time on the gold coast, even though you probably wouldn't guess it from my skin tone. i'll try to head into the city during the school holidays,

speaking of which, i know a fair ammount of critical mass are actually teachers, how about we try and arrange a day or two over the holidays when we could meet for a game (or ten).the earlier we arrange it the better.

Re: Critical Mass (Indooroopilly)
I am available Saturday the 10th, or Sunday the 18th. Saturday the 17th is the LXG meeting at Chandler.

http://au.geocities.com/qldlegs/calendar.htm

I haven't been to one of their meetings yet, so I'm keen to go.

Andrew, please let me know when F-I-L John arrives, because Kung Fu Fighting would go down well over the school holidays.

Re: Critical Mass (Indooroopilly)
okay how about sunday the 18th. not to sound rude, but does anyone have any ideas of time or place? If any decisions are made before then could someone ring me please (my access to the internet before that time is highly doubtful).
P.S
citadels is now out of print until sometime closer to christmas. So i made my own. With that finished, i had an idea, Get ready for "simpsons citadels". Some time i will make another verion of citadels based on the simpsons characters and places, with 'homer' as the king, 'Apu' as the merchant, 'Flanders' as the bishop, and 'Mr Burns' as the warlord etc, to try to build green merchant buildings like "moes Tavern', the 'Qik-e-mart', the 'try-and-save' department store, and purple special buildings like the 'Nuclear power plant' and 'Barneys bowl-a-rama' etc. I hope to have it finished by the end of the school holidays.
