All right, this is it, the big one, the one to doom or deliver us all. We have come a long way, and we are at the end of or journey for good or for ill. The cylons are making a last ditch effort to turn or own against us. They may be the lowest of the low, the scum of our almost perished civilization, but they are still our brothers and sisters, in minds, in hearts, maybe even in arms.
Let us embrace our errant companions among our mids - for we will most surely need someone to dig the latrines, once we arrive on our new home. If you are not with us, you are with the cylons! So say we all!

Our crisis is Prisoner Revolt

I play 4 - Scientific Research as an interrupt.

Mr. Zarek, I hope you can keep your former comrades in line.

Everybody's going to go all in on this already, so why not?

Looks like those prisoners are the only people left alive in the fleet. But not for long.

As your president, I order you all to DIE! I have formed a committee to investigate what happens to a prison ship population, when you vent their oxygen into space.

I'm eagerly awaiting the results.

My friends of the Astral Queen, I urge you to lay down your arms! Humanity is at destruction's door, and it's time for us all to stand up and show what's left of our race that we are much more than the "criminals" they have branded us as. This is our moment of redemption!

Admiral Valerii, please take us home!

Once more, congratulations to the humans. Though I also have to acknowledge the great comeback that the Cylons made. I mean, the sleeper-agent phase was reached at distance 6, and while Dr. Baltar had been a Cylon from the start, Chief joined him only at that point. The resources at that point were 6-7-9-10, and there was no Cylon attack force in sight. That seems a shoe-in for the humans, but in the end their victory could have easily been a defeat.

I witnessed some very strong play from the Cylons (in particular the Chief, who seemed to know exactly what cards everybody held at all times). And, I must say, the humans dropped some avoidable balls here and there. I really don't understand why they did not try to regain the Presidency (a value 3 skill check), knowing full well that there was a Pardon in the Quorum hand. And they failed a couple of crises which they could have passed if they would have just spent a little bit more.

If there is one thing that I would have liked different about the game it is Chief's admission that he was a Cylon after Baltar sent him an XO. I think that it would have been possible for him to convince Zarek and Boomer that Tigh was the second Cylon, and he might have had their support in brigging Tigh. I don't know how that would have worked out, but with all the accusations flying he might have been able to pull it off.

Thank you all for playing.

Hmm. With Desolate Moon already out of the equasion, I probably would've recommended revealing earlier, rather than keeping the Admiralcy for a possible fuel win. What effect did Mission Specialist have on that jump?

Looking at all those buried crises, it's easy to see why Boomer is such a powerful character, despite her drawbacks.

The game ended up being a lot closer than I thought it would, waking up as a cylon post-sleeper. FYI, my reveal power was 'Can send a character on Galactica to sickbay'. Not very useful once Tigh was in the brig, though I could've taken out Zarek once or twice, on an XO from Baltar.

I think we cylons did pretty well once we got going, but it was frustrating how dependent we were on the crisis deck. We kept you off-balance for a long time, but some of the crises that came up were more detrimental to us than to you.

I wonder, Pieter, was there ever a point where you thought we might have turned the game around, had we done things differently, after we were out in the open?

(I could've pretended a little longer, but my remaining actions that turn would've been the same. Maybe the Admin check would've been easier.)

If you would have done things differently, the game would have gone differently. There's no telling where it would have ended up. You did what you could to make this a 6-jump game, and I knew that that was possible if you played it well. And you did. Without that Mission Specialist, I think the Admirality would have ended up with a human before the jump from distance 6, and the Barren Planet would have brought the Fleet to distance 8 immediately, instead of the unscheduled stop at a Tylium Planet.

But if you are wondering if I think you made a mistake, I can tell you that I think not. Would different play have brought a Cylon victory? Possibly, but that does not mean you made a mistake. It just means that you chose one path that could have lead to a possible Cylon victory over another path that could have lead to a possible Cylon victory. I think that your decisions were strong, and the fact that three of the four resources ended up at value 1 shows that they were strong.

Maybe there was one thing that basically everybody did wrong, namely playing too human-like before the sleeper-agent phase. Everybody could have ended up a Cylon, and would have had to fight bad odds. I saw a lot of selflessness. Personally, when I am in a game, I am mainly trying to ensure that I will have a good hand to bring my team victory after the sleeper-agent phase hits - whichever team I end up being on.

I had a blast just following along for the past couple months. Just before it became clear that Baltar was a Cylon, I really had no idea what the heck was going on. I'm actually a little surprised that Chief only realized he was a Cylon at the Sleeper Phase, because his "we need to disarm Tigh in case he becomes a Cylon" thing pre-Sleeper seemed really suspicious to me. The reasoning he gave was sound, but it definitely seems like something a Cylon would do to protect himself more than a Human would do to only have a chance of protecting himself.

Now I guess I need to find another PBF game to lurk. Otherwise, what am I going to do with my time?

Thanks, it's always appreciated to hear from spectators. Anyone else?

I did have an ulterior motive for that - I already knew Baltar was a cylon at that point.

However, either I or Tigh could possibly turn during sleeper. If Tigh's OPG was out of the equation, I could be sure that the Presidency would be in the hands of whichever team I would be on, by using Admin and OPG'ing it, if necessary.

I know that I made a few mistakes, but as I've stated before, I haven't really played that many games of BSG (still got a perfect win record though ). In the end I know we got lucky, but then so did the cylons during some of those crises and brig checks. I'm glad that I managed to peg Chief as a cylon early on, though Baltar had me guessing (thought it was Boomer for a while). All around it was a fun game.

And regarding Pieter's comment on plays pre-sleeper: I generally always try to play my loyalty. Maybe it's the role player in me, but I dislike meta-gaming like that. Just my personal preference.

Yeah, Klaus wrote me a GM saying that he knew that Baltar was a Cylon already during the second cycle of the game. He had been counting cards and comparing his findings with statements by players, and Baltar had obviously been lying.

About that, Klaus: I have been in games where players lied about their hands without being Cylons, especially early on about XO's. They are just not willing to give up too much power to others who might be Cylons. Still, you were quite right in this game.

Honestly, I was a little exasperated about that. I had been pretty aggressive about going after suspected cylons early on; I didn't want to change my tune after I got turned. I knew Baltar was a cylon, and his post-sleeper play didn't make any sense had he been human, or so I thought, so I assumed his cover had been blown for the rest of you too. I went after him aggressively, as I had done with Boomer earlier.

Maybe things were a little less obvious than I thought, and being more restrained would've been better. I thought it funny, that when I activated Admin to make myself President the first time, only Boomer realized this was a strong pro-human move, under the circumstances.

It wasn't so much that he refrained from playing XOs. But Baltar kept putting them into skill checks when there was no need, or discarding them. Holding back on XOs is valid, even if you're human. But if you're human, you're usually making sure you're keeping at least one XO in your hand for your next turn, especially when you don't draw much Leadership.

Thank you everyone for playing (and moderating of course!)

As Pieter already stated: I was a cylon from the very beginning and had a hard time staying covered till sleeper phase. The fact that only one player (Chief) discovered my true identity until then made me feel that I, more or less, acomplished that goal.

If I remember correctly, I wrote Pieter a GM when he sent me my cylon card, stating that I usually try to stay unrevealed as long as possible and wait for THE moment. Sadly, at sleeper phase it become apparent that humans where doing waayyy to good for such a moment to be likely.

My goal was to find my cylon buddy and send him a strong signal that I´m his ally. At that time, I had no idea that Chief already knew about my identity PLUS he gave me absolutely no reason to believe he could be my partner.

So I desperatly began searching for the cylon (hence my OPG and that 1 Q Card that let´s you look at another players loyality card in one round). After I failed in that task, there was no going back.. I had to accuse the only person that I knew to be human: Boomer (sorry about that )

I was happy that my hidden cylon beeing was not that obvious and that I managed to keep the finger pointing up for some time (especially when Zarek increased the Presidents office difficulty).

I´m not that experienced in this game (having about 12-13 games under my belt) and have been a cylon for 4 times so far. I learned a lot! Not rules wise (though here and there I picked up some details), but how some nuances can be very powerful if played correctly.

Something that puzzled me for a while.. and I´m glad to be able to ask this question now, is how Klaus managed to have such a good overview on the various card stacks. Was that just brain work? Because more than once I had the feeling that you must be keeping record somewhere.

Apart from that, I hereby declare you to be the most analytical player I´ve ever met. This game seems to be like a excel-spread sheet for you - 100% calculable.

Again, thanks everybody! I was surprised that it was so close at the end.

Oh and as Klaus said in a post above, I would be interested if there where any other people reading (lurking) who want to share some thoughts?
