You have paid retail for the last time.

The human race, to which so many of my readers belong, has been playing at children's games from the beginning, and will probably do it till the end, which is a nuisance for the few people who grow up. - GKC

If you go a bit south (Jackson), Toy House is an impressive independent store with a large game section.

Hey, a question I can answer!

I usually go to 21st Century Comics and Games in East Lansing, but the Fortress in East Lansing is another good one as well.

I hear that Clem's Comics and Games in West Lansing is good too, but I've never been there.

It really depends on what you are looking for.

Clem's, in Lansing (proper), is more of a comic/board game/everything shop. I'd say it is primarily a comic book shop.

21st Century, in East Lansing (just head down Michigan Ave about 4 miles), is probably the best overall game/comic/everything store you are going to get. They can be a bit pricey, but they have the big room with game tables and a good selection of many games to choose from.

If you are more into D+D, RPGs, or to just PLAY games vs purchase, you can go a block down from 21st in East Lansing to the Fortress. They certainly don't have the game selection the other two do, but they do have the tables and community to delve into the games with more pieces and such.

Hope this helps

George

Evolution Games on W. Saginaw is a good place. They are a game store and gaming cafe together.

Actually, Clem's shares a building with a burrito and sub place which hosts all of Clem's game days and tournaments. There are some demo copies of games on the shelf there which anyone can grab and play, and two local board gaming groups meet there, typically on the first and third Saturdays of every month, so come on by if you're around then. (21st Century also hosts a board game day on alternating weekends, but there is a bit less gaming space there).

You can find Clem's website and gaming schedule here http://www.clemslansing.com/wordpress/

Must proudly report that I am now a worthy geek, having made my first purchase at a FLGS: The Struggle for Catan.

21st Century was the store that I visited and, yes, they were friendly.
