You may thank Brian Morris for this math trade, since I wouldn't have started a general math trade had not he asked.

Geeklist: You MUST Cover Shipping math trade - 326 trades found

Given the short duration, there will be no request list. Please make any requests in this thread.

Use of the On-Line Want List Generator (OLWLG) is required for this math trade (please remember to tip JeffyJeff some GG for his support).

Please do not delete items or sweeteners once you have listed them. You can always submit a blank want list for an entry if you've traded it away before the deadline.

Rules for this trade - please read them, as some are not the normal rules:

d10-0 This math trade is for anyone with a shipping address on Earth.

d10-1 Any item _except_ cash is allowed in this math trade. If you are _receiving_ a gift certificate, please consider offering BGG at least 3% of the total, as you would if you sold a game on BGG.

d10-2 You are expected to describe, as accurately as is reasonably possible, the condition (components and box), language and edition of your item in the description. This includes sweeteners. Any games not in shrink should be fully inventoried, and any missing components - including inserts - listed in the entry.

d10-3 Do not include a link to any game unless you are including it with the entry as this looks, in the OLWLG, as if you are.

d10-4 You may freely choose where you will ship to, but you MUST cover full shipping costs. You may, for instance, choose to ship only to Ohio, British Columbia, and Madagascar - but you must make clear, in the item description, where you will send this item. If not made clear, you will be responsible for shipping the item worldwide at your expense. Conditional shipping destinations are not allowed.

d10-5 If you've been reported to me as a bad trader, you cannot participate. If you try to, I will remove your entries.

d10-6 Please watch (either via the geeklist or the OLWLG) for questions, and answer them promptly.

d10-7 Geekgold and gift certificate arbitrage is not allowed. Which is to say - you may not put geekgold on the want list for your geekgold entry, you may not put a gift certificate on the want list for your gift certificate entry.

Are priorities being used for this trade? The little boxes next to the items in the want list area. Just wondered.

No, with the metric of users-trading, priorities aren't utilized.

It makes perfect sense as long as you can state where you're willing to ship. If you HAD to ship anywhere it wouldn't make any sense.

You check only games that are worth $90 or more and hope for the best

Exactly. For anything light, where the cost of First Class International won't be too bad, I'm trying to offer worldwide shipping. For somewhat larger items, I'm limiting to the US and Canada. For full-sized games, I'm generally only offering shipping in the US, but for a few I'm offering it to Canada as well - and assuming, when considering what I'll trade those games for, that I'll have to sent them to Canada.

Re: You MUST Cover Shipping math trade - discussion thread
I'm not sure what to make of these quick 'flash' math trades. In one sense it's a bit nerve wracking for someone like me because I'm away during the week and don't have access to my games, so I'm not sure what to trade. On the other hand, I kind of enjoy the rush of trying to make the deadline.

Thanks for putting the trade together. I always enjoy these math trades when they come up.

I'm not sure I understand how the requests work since this format is not standard - could someone elaborate?

For example - if I post a request and that item is in the trade would it get a priority for my offers? I'm probably misunderstanding the system for this MT but it sounds like participants will get random things?

Thanks

Re: You MUST Cover Shipping math trade - discussion thread
I have a number of games for trade in the most recent Math Trade - four distinct games which I have entered as 4 distinct items on the Math Trade Geek List. Say I am willing to trade 2 of my games for 1 of the games I want? How can I arrange for this using the OLWLG?

I.E., I have Dominion and Lost Cities as separate items on the Geek List for trade. I am willing to trade them BOTH for Kingsburg. When I select Kingsburg on the OLWLG to add games I'm willing to trade, I select both Dominion and Lost Cities, because I would be willing to trade either of them. However, how do I tell the OLWLG that I would indeed be willing to trade both of them for Kingsburg?

Thanks!

The request is just that. You're asking someone to post that item in the math trade. It's then up to you to add that item to your want list and add your own items to the MT for others in hope of making that trade happen.

You would have had to create one item in the MT that is for BOTH Dominion and Lost Cities. This is typically referred to as a sweetener. When you check the boxes for both items in the OLWLG, it interprets this as you would be willing to trade Dominion OR Lost Cities for Kingsburg; it won't combine them for you to offer both.
