Initial response on our kickstarter project (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2012515236/flash-point-f...) has been great. We already hit the $15K mark, and every supporter at the $45 level (or higher) will get a extra (promo) double sided & mounted game board.

A number of people have suggested that we use a "fireeple" instead of regular pawns. So I'll include those as promotional items (at no extra charge) if the funding on the game hits $30K. Luckily there are severla members of the BGG Board Game Design Forums that have been generous enough to help design these Fire-Man-Meeples. Here are the three finalists for you to help select a winner:

Suddenly a shot rang out! A door slammed. The maid screamed. Suddenly a pirate ship appeared on the horizon! While millions of people were starving, the king lived in luxury. Meanwhile, on a small farm in Kansas, a boy was growing up.

Do you mean the name of a meeple, or a person's name, or a descriptive name?

For a person name, I vote Kenneth Burnes or Sam Waters...

...or if its a girl, then Sierra Mist. Wait, no, that sounds too much like an exotic dancer. Hmm... I'm guessing that profession isn't in the game.

How about Jack? Can't go wrong with Firefighter Jack can you? Unless he gets lost in the box, of course.

I suppose his name could be Alejandro Julio Renaldo Montoya La Rosa Ramirez. We'll probably end up calling him Alex for short.

I was hoping for a name for the meeple - as in fireeple. But I am not going to limit the creativity!

Generic sounding overall, but if memory serves its derived from the old French word "tison" which means firebrand.

Two more suggestions...

Pyreeple
inspired from the word Pyre.

Embereeple
inspired from the word Ember.

Rescue Meeple.

First Responder.

What kind of demented mind would make a firefighter out of wood?

It seems obvious, but no one has suggested good old "Firemeeples" which I think is quite fitting since we usually use "meeple" in place of "man" (Caveman -> cavemeeple, fireman -> firemeeple).

I'm gonna go ahead and plead my own case for:

I prefer "Fire Fighter" to "Fireman" because I'm a left-wing, PC, hippy...and I like Fire-Fighteeple because they aren't little "fire" resource meeples, they're fire-fighteeples!!

although...I also call cavemen meeples "cavemen-meeples" which I guess is wrong...blush

I do not think it means what you think it means.

I don't think "meeple" should be part of the name. Why give your average joe a "made up" word if it's not part of the theme?

I dont have any good ones of my own, so I'm throwing my support behind "firemeeple."

I'm gonna dig out the old woodworking tools and make me a "dalmeeple" to ride on my fire engine.
