There are not that many boardgame shops in the UK.
Boardgaming is not that well established in the UK, most people are not aware of anything beyond the toy shop games like Monopoly so it is a financial challenge to open up a store.
So you won't find stores in every town, instead we use mail order are aware of a small number of shops scattered across the country.
I am fortunate enough to have a boardgame store in my town but if that didn't exist I think I would be wholly dependent on mail order.
As for London, you'd think there would be a few, but I'm aware only of one.
Orcs Nest
6 Earlham St
London
WC2H 9RY
I've never been to it myslef but this is their online website to give you an idea of the sort of stuff they stock.

Not saying that is the only one, just the only one I have found.
Cheers,
Nigel

WashingtonCLICK THIS BEAGLE if you're looking for in-depth gameplay video run-throughs! :) - Leisure Games is great, but quite a ways out of the way. Boardgameguru is also in London. He sells out of his house, but I'm sure you could make an appointment to swing by and pick up what you want from his inventory...
