I am going to be traveling to Houston, TX in early October. Are there any boardgame stores in the area? Oh and any Brew Pubs?

Nan's Games and Comics is probably the premiere Houston game store. In fact, I've never been to another game store that had as much variety in stock. However, their employees are also known as being a bit unfriendly: in fact, somewhere here on the Geek there's another thread of messages on this very subject.

The only board game store I've been to in Houston (hometown) is called Enigma Games near the intersection of 249 and Spring-Cypress. However, they tend to have a very small selection; mainly CCG and RPG games are played. I can't say enough good things about the owner; I've only bought two games there (Carcassone and Clash of Kings), but each time it's been a very pleasant experience.

So if you're in the area, by all means I'd suggest for you to drop by, but if you're looking for a large selection, it might not be worth your time.

Try this link courtesy of davebo:

I had better luck using a city, state for my search as opposed to the zip code.
