Several good game stores in the area.

https://www.scifigenre.com/store/

My favorite store. Monday night boardgame nights.

http://www.allfunngames.com/

Great place to play, but games are way expensive. Thursday night boardgame nights.

http://www.gamersarmory.com/index.php

Another great place to play with expenisve games. Wednesday night boardgame nights.

Also, catch a Durham Bulls game, wander around Duke Gardens, and have a beer at He's Not Here (if you can find it).

If you like history, I would suggest Bennett Place in Durham -- the site of the largest surrender of the Civil War (or the War of Northern Aggression, as we call it in these parts ).

Gamers Armory has the best selection of history and war simulation games. Scifigenre has the best selection of gamer's games (although Gamer's Armory does have a good one as well). I haven't been to All Fun and Games for quite a while. When I was there a year or two ago, their stock of games had been drastically cut and I haven't been back.

In addition to the above FLGS there is also The Game connection in Raleigh/Knightdale area.

http://thegameconnection.com

They have a Tuesday night game night with some great people there, and Ron (The owner) is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.
