You're never going to get the same prices or selection you'll get online.

I just like to check them out when I'm visiting a new town.

(Was that a yes, or a no?)

I don't know of any, and the usual sources don't suggest any. I'd try the gamer database, and ask the locals there...

I'm exactly the same. I enjoy visiting game shops when I'm traveling.

I've visited Albuquerque several times, and the best shop I've found is Active Imagination at 11200 Montgomery NE. The first time I visited, I bought a "used" copy of Hera & Zeus for $10, and the card decks turned out to still be sealed! On a subsequent visit, they didn't seem to have as much Euro stuff as they did before, and there weren't any used bargains. However, all of the other game shops I visited in Albuquerque were more heavily slanted towards RPGs.

Whatever happened to Wargames West on Central? I grew up in Albuquerque and have many fond memories of haunting that store while I was in college. They seemed to have everything (or at least everything available in the late 70s).

Long closed. Which is sad, I worked there in college in the 90's. But had been going there since I was a wee lad. Wargames West will be missed.

Wargames West morphed into Active Imagination, which actually has quite a few wargames at the moment because of an estate sale they handled. Good folks. Spend $100 in a year, get 10% off all purchases the next year....
