I will be in Seattle and in Pt. Townsend, WA for the next couple of weeks and would like to know from any locals where the good board game stores are. Anyone have any favorites (contact info would be helpful)? Thanks!

Kevin

In Seattle:

Pioneer Square - Downtown
Magic Mouse toys - Some games, not too many

Ballard/Greenwood/Phinney

Gary's Games 85th and Greenwood - Best IMHO
Games Wizard - 65th and 8th - Used to be better, now mostly minis and CCGs
Berserk games - Phinney and 72nd-ish pretty good prices, not great selection.

Eastside - Woodinville - Can't remember the name
Boards and Bits (.com)

Redmond
Uncle's Games - Redmond Towne Center
Genesis Games and Gizmos - Next to the Bella Botega Theatre

Bellevue
Uncle's Games - Crossroads mall

Good luck

I'd agree that Gary's is the best, especially if you're looking for an older used game!

Don't Listen to the man behind the Mercenary Counter...

They have NO old games there. Nothing you could resell on eBay or the marketplace. NOTHING! Don't even go into the back room! All they have there are puzzles...

In Lynnwood there are:

Cardhaus(.com) - the retail store
Phoenix games (not sure if this is still in Lynnwood)

Uncle's is supposed to be good. They have a couple different stores, mostly on the East side? (In Bellevue?)

Game Shack is around someplace as well.

Game Matrix is down in Tacoma.

Monster Gaming is in Burien.

Pacific Games Emporium: Has about every board game you can think of and anywhere from 30 to 50% off normal cost. They are located only twenty or thirty fives mile west of the town of Olympia.

Sadly, there are no real game stores in Port Townsend. There's a place downtown, Completely Puzzled, that sells puzzles and a few children's games. Then there's The Asylum in Port Angeles, but that might be too far afield...

If you'd like to get together and game a bit while you're in Port Townsend, drop me a line.

I third the vote for Gary's as your best bet in the Pacific Northwest. They carry an excellent range of games. And I too feel the need to emphasize that the idea of Gary's having a fabulously stocked used game section is a figment of someone's imagination.

Thanks so much all. Only hope I have enough money to pay my mortgage when I return.

I thought I'd throw in Oroboros Games in Redmond also. They used to be called Coyote Games. They're at 16505 Redmond Way, Ste. F
Redmond, WA 98052 USA.
