Hi,

I have to create a series of comics to complement our game and add some content to our site.

Have a bit of a challenge deciding on the style of the comic. Should it be superhero style like marvel comics meets star wars or should it be beano type comic fun...am trying to go for a middle style but can't find examples that tell me ..'yeah this is it!'

The comic introduces the first chapter of the story..ie how the Scenton Alliance created the Elemons...the material they used, how their experiment was sabotaged on a strange unnamed planet, and then the space ship used to search for the lost Elemons as the Scentons recruit 'helpers' from back home to get on board the mission.

Are there any links to examples that might be deemed suitable comic art for 8 to 14 year. Going to be going to the Uk Games Expo and may want to get some sort of draft there to show people.

Thanks for any help.

Take a look at Robert Kirkman's Super Dinosaur, it's skewed younger than the mainstream books but not enough to patronise. Good stuff.

I love that..and just having a look through comixology.com site.

Is it necessary to have a 'comic experienced' illustrator or does that not matter? And where can i find an illustrator who understands comic?

I have put up the first chapter online here:

I would really appreciate some feedback as it is my first time writing a sci-fi to complement volume 1 of our starter deck game.

I think the opening can be made more interesting simply by reversing the order of the first four paragraphs.
Naturally, a few tweaks may be needed for it flow properly in the new order.

Quote:
At last! Thought Scenton Anoma The final core is complete.

The glow of the Core shone upon their face shields...

They were the Scenton Alliance and...

Now, within the vast realms of our universe, ...

Just my two cents. Do with it as you will.

Thanks. Am rejigging. Chapter 2 is really tough. Introducing characters to sound intriguing is strangely tough.
