I recently posted the following in response to a thread by Harro Bosma (Harae) (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/96468) praising Tom Vasel for all the help he provides in making purchasing decisions, and inquiring into why more game designers don't rate games. I agree with Harro that I value the opinions of game designers very highly, and appreciate when they rate games. On the other hand, I also understand Joe Huber's (huber) point that many game designers, such as Alan Moon, think it's bad form for game designers to rate or review games. This post is certainly not meant to raise debate about whether or not it's bad form for designers to rate games, but instead just to point out to those who care that many prominent game designers have rated numerous games. In case you care, below are some of the favorite games of everyone's favorite designers.

-Alan R. Moon (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/user/alanrmoon)
-Bruno Faidutti (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/user/faidutti)

I'm probably missing some from both the first list of designers that have rated games, and from the second list of designers that have chosen not to rate games. If you feel so inclined, please supplement either or both with your comments. I hope others find this information interesting and/or useful. I assume there is some interest in this, as evidenced by the 97 thumbs up received by Gene Vogel's (GVogel) recent GeekList on "Game Designers Who Are BGG'ers" (http://tinyurl.com/aates), which I encourage you to browse if you happened to miss it when it was created a few days ago.
