User Summary
This game was originally released for the 16 and 48K ZX Spectrums as "Formula One" by Spirit Software. It was later re-released by Mastertronic as "Formula 1 Simulator" and converted to a variety of systems.
As the name implies, it is a Formula One simulation game. The player has a choice between ten tracks and either an automatic or manual gear box.
The original Spirit Software release came packaged with a steering wheel which attached to the Spectrum. Essentially this was a plastic, ashtray shaped device, which the player rolled along the top row of keys. The further rolled away from the centre keys, the greater the steering lock. The Mastertronic release did not include the steering wheel, but it remains a control option in the ZX Spectrum menus. The manual instead includes instructions for making your own 'steering wheel' out of a roll of sellotape.
