From the inlay:
Strike Force Harrier puts you in the cockpit for a full flight and combat simulation of one of Britain's most exciting fighter aircraft.
Your objective is to bomb the enemy HQ at the same time defending yourself from enemy aircraft and ground forces. You have cannon, bombs and Sidewinder heat-seeking missiles at your disposal - but the enemy is just as well-armed as you are.
You can select either practice or combat level, with a skill of pilot, commander or ace. At the end of each mission your score is given, calculated on the basis of your distance from the enemy HQ.
Detailed manual, flight diagrams, key-card and registration card included.
Can you meet the ultimate challenge?
User Summary
Your home base and the enemy HQ are set at opposite corners of a rectangular map. The enemy HQ is approximately 500 miles away to the NNE. Harriers are capable of operating from rough, makeshift bases, and this forms a major part of the gameplay. After destroying enemy tanks threatening your base, the player can move into an adjacent area and scout for an appropriate place to set up a new forward base. After making a vertical landing, the player can call for an airborne drop of ground staff to set up a base at the new location. By repeating this process the player can advance across the map towards the enemy HQ.
