From the inlay (ZX Spectrum):
A fabulous simulation of real soccer with complete multi-colour graphics. Up to nine players can try to become the holder of the most coverted [sic] trophy ... The World Cup!
User Summary:
This is a soccer simulation where up to two players can play simultaneously. Up to nine players (in some versions) can select teams and the computer will run a World Cup competition pairing players against each other and/or computer opponents.
Infamously this was re-released two years later with slight modifications at a much higher price by U.S. Gold as World Cup Carnival, to tie in with the 1986 Mexico World Cup.
The Commodore 16 version was also re-released unchanged by Microvalue, but called World Cup II.
