Grid movement

In the Grid Movement mechanic, the board is completely covered in squares (as in Chess) or hexagons (as in Hey!, That's my Fish!) that allow unrestricted or nearly unrestricted movement in any direction and to any square or hex. This movement mechanic is commonly used in both abstract strategy games and wargames.

The Hex-and-Counter mechanic is a subcategory of Grid Movement.
