One Thing Search Games RSS Feed

The easiest way to find what you want is using the search feature on top of the page.

Searching for items

The All option finds things everywhere. As an example, if you search for "Weis" using the All option, you will find both Margaret Weis (the great writer of Tales of the Lance), Margaret Weis Productions, Ltd. (her publishing company), Sabine Weiss (artist of Das Schwarze Auge (DSA) (4th Edition)). If you want a more narrow search choose any of the options on the pull-down box to the left of where you enter search text.

Browse Games

Another common way to find books is browsing the database for them. On the menu, you hover your mouse over Browse to get the list of browsing options.

Browse Menu (numbers in parenthesis are # of items)

Each browse selection is a bit different, but generally you are presented with a list of all items that meet that browse criteria. This list is ordered by rank but you can sort differently if you like. If you Browse RPG Items, for example, you will get something like:

Advanced Search

The Advanced Search button will take you to a new page where we have defined a number of search templates where you can perform more complicated searches. From here you can venture out on searches governed by a selection of filters . Keep an eye out as a number of custom searches will be added in the future.

The Details
Once you've located an item you want to see in more detail, just click the name of the game (it will always be in a hyperlink blue color so you know it's selectable). This will drill you down to the actual page for the item in our database. Here you can see comments, read reviews, see rating/ranking information, see who has it for trade or for sale. You can see any active listings on ebay and even jump to purchase the game on Amazon. You can see any files (player aids, character sheets, errata, etc.) that might be associated with the item along with any images that have been uploaded by RPG Geek users. Last but not least are the forums specific to the item - feel free to post and ask a questions or leave comments.

As an example, go browse the listing for Marvel Heroic Roleplaying: Basic Game and poke around a bit! Pay special attention to the Comments (link found near the top of the listing) and the Reviews (found in the Forum module for the listing).
